How does a Uganda poultry farmer keep their birds

There are 2 different ways for rearing a egg laying chickens in Uganda:deep litter system or battery cage

In this article,we will focus on battery cage as it is become more and more popular and modern in Uganda poultry farming

Battery cage is a wire welded cage,after egg laying chickens are 12-16 weeks old could be transfer into it,chickens are restricted to a confined space in the cage,this device method denies chicken from free movement

Why should you consider a battery cage rather than deep litter

Prevent contact with chickens with their feces which reduce infection

Lowers the overall cost of production

Prevent contact of chicken with their eggs thereby reducing breakage of egg and maximizing profit

Stocking is easily effected in the battery cage system

Easy removal of waste

Effective feed conversion in battery cage system as movement is restricted thereby reducing the cost of energy through movement

We ship about 500 units battery cage to Kampala every month,following are 2 typical poultry farms we setup in Uganda

Poultry farm project 1: 10,000 birds farm in Kampala

The client bought our A type 160 birds capacity poultry cage and a set of manure removal cleaning machine in the year of 2017,we visited his farm in the year of 2018 when we went to Uganda,his poultry building size is 45 meters long by 12.5 meters wide

He is using semi-automatic battery cage,feeding and picking up eggs by manual,but when he expand his farm last year,he ordered a “feeding trolley”machine to help him feed the birds more easily and fast

Poultry farm project 2: 25,000 birds poultry farm 

This farm owner is using our full automatic cage,he bought 156 units cages,automatic feeder hopper machine,automatic egg collection machine,automatic manure removal scraper machine,and also a feed mixer and grinder machine,all of equipment is full automatic,so he just need 2-3 workers can manage the farm,although it cost him a bigger invest initially,but it realizes his farm fully automated and intensive

How do i get a poultry farm battery cage in Uganda

1) If you import a full container poultry cage and equipment,we will ship a container to Kampala,after container arrival Kampala port,you could do customs clearance by yourself

2) If your goods can't fit a full container,we could combine your goods with our other Uganda customers' goods,use a same container to ship to Kampala,thus could save shipping cost and clearance fee

3) If your cages are lesser than 30 units,we could send your goods to our Guangzhou or Yiwu agent,then could send to their Uganda warehouse,you could directly pick up from there
