Types of popular poultry cage system

According to the structure of poultry cage system, here are semi-automatic poultry cage system, and fully automatic poultry cage system.

1. Semi-automatic poultry cage system

Semi-automatic poultry cage system are more commonly used in small farms, such as 100 chickens, 1,000 chickens, 5,000 chickens, 10,000 chickens, compared to fully automatic poultry cage system. Its main advantage is that the initial investment cost is lower.

The structure includes manual feeding, manual manure removal, and automatic drinking water.

2. Fully automatic poultry cage system

Fully automatic poultry cage system are more commonly used in small to medium-sized farms, such as 5,000 chickens, 10,000 chickens, 1,5000 chickens, 20,000 chickens, 50,000 chickens, and even more. Compared to ordinary poultry cage system, the main advantage of the automatic poultry cage system is to save labor costs.

The structure includes AI management system, automatic feeding, automatic manure removal, and automatic drinking water.

Materials and lifespan of poultry cage system

The main materials of poultry cage system are metal.

1. Cold galvanization (electro-galvanization)

The lowest price, with a lifespan of over 6 years, suitable for small-scale farming (such as < 5000 birds).

Hot galvanization (hot-dip galvanization): Strong corrosion resistance, with a lifespan of over 25 years, suitable for medium-sized (5000 - 50,000 birds) or long-term farming.

2. Zinc-magnesium alloy wire

Best rust prevention performance, good elasticity, low egg breakage rate, suitable for large-scale farms (≥ 50,000 birds).

3. Stainless steel

Extremely strong corrosion resistance, with a lifespan of over 35 years, suitable for high humidity or highly corrosive environments.

Installation step of poultry cage system

1. Materials and Tools Preparation

  • Prepare all the components of the poultry cage system (such as the frame, side panels, door, posts, etc.), screws, nuts, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc. Ensure that the materials are of reliable quality without any damage or rust.

  • Check the completeness of all components of the poultry cage system

  • Carefully check the quantity and specifications of all components against the list to ensure they are complete and without any missing or damaged parts.

2. Installation Steps

  • Assemble the poultry cage system frame

Connect the frame components together according to the design requirements, fix them with screws and nuts, and ensure the connection is firm. Pay attention to the accurate size and angle of the frame to avoid distortion or deformation.

  • Install the poultry cage system netting

Use nails to secure the upper net, lower net, and partition net of the poultry cage system in sequence.

  • Install the door

Fix the side panel and the door on the frame at the designed position, ensure the connection is tight, and there is no looseness. Check if the door opens and closes smoothly and if the lock is secure.

  • Install the internal facilities of the poultry cage system

Install drinking waters, feeders, and egg-laying hen nests and other internal facilities, ensure the positions are appropriate and the installation is firm, making it convenient for the poultry to use.

Maintain of poultry cage system

1. Daily cleaning

  • Clean the feces and debris in the poultry cage system every day to keep the cages clean. Use a brush or broom to remove any remaining feed and egg residue to prevent bacterial growth.

  • Perform a thorough cleaning of the poultry cage system regularly. It is recommended to do a complete cleaning after each batch of chickens are sold. You can use a high-pressure water gun for rinsing, and use disinfectants for disinfection when necessary.

  • After cleaning, make sure the poultry cage system are completely dry before reusing them. Avoid a damp environment that could cause rusting of the equipment and illness of the egg-laying hens.

2. Regular inspection and maintenance of poultry cage system accessories

  • Regularly check the stability of the structure of the poultry cage system, including the frame, bottom net, side net, and cage door, etc. Repair or replace deformed or damaged parts in time to ensure the safety of the egg-laying hens.

  • Check the drinking waters and feeders in the poultry cage system to ensure they are functioning properly. Clean the drinking waters to prevent blockages and ensure the water supply for the egg-laying hens.

  • Check the operation of the automatic feeding system in the poultry cage system to ensure even feeding and avoid feed waste.

  • Check the operation status of the manure removal equipment in the poultry cage system and promptly clear clogged manure outlets to ensure smooth manure removal.
